SCOTT Snowmobile athletes were on hand last weekend kicking off the International Series of Champions (ISOC) snowcross season in Duluth, Minnesota. Athletes from multiple SCOTT sponsored teams such as Team Jimmy John's/Ski-doo/Boss Racing, Team Bauerly racing, Christian Brothers Racing and many more battled head to head all weekend earning multiple top placings.
The standout performance of the weekend was in Sunday's Pro-lites final. Team Jimmy John's/Ski-doo/Boss Racing's Renaud Alexandre #793 had the best showing of the day on Sunday going 1st and 1st in his qualifying heats making him the lead qualifier for his Pro-Lite main. At the start he pulled off the line in 3rd, and finished first overall with a commanding 3 second lead, capturing the number one podium slot.
Team Jimmy John's/Ski-doo/Boss Racing's Peter Narsa competed in the Pro class and had an up and down weekend. Narsa qualified 5th for the Pro Final on Saturday night after going 3rd and 2nd in his heat races. In the main Narsa got tangled up in the mayhem of turn one pushing him back to the rear. The shorter course made passing very difficult and lines were rapidly changing under the man made snow. After a brutal 25 lap final with a tight field, Narsa finished 10th place overall.
Team Bauerly Racing enjoyed success last weekend in the first round of snocross with six heat race wins and a top five finish. In the Pro-Lites class, Saturday’s round one heat races saw total domination by SCOTT goggle athletes Chase Rosemeyer and John Stenberg, both with come from behind wins. On Sunday, Stenberg was able to repeat a round one heat race win and followed that up with a hard fought 4th place overall finish in the Pro-Lites final.
Christian Brothers Racing showed up to compete in the snow on a short, tight track at the Duluth National last weekend. A tough weekend of racing was to be had for SCOTT goggle athletes Logan Christian and Garth Kaufman. Logan was the only one of the two to make the final in the Pro Open Class on Saturday, starting his race day off with a round one heat race finish of 2nd place, followed by a 3rd place finish in round two. In the final, Logan was able to start up front and hang on to a 7th place finish. Sunday saw Kaufman’s day end early with a heat race crash and Christian having to go to the LCQ. After having to start the final from the back row, Logan raced hard to a 10th place finish.
