Jordon Smith Is Parting Ways with Monster Energy/Yamaha Star Racing
Jordon Smith has confirmed he is departing the Monster Energy/Yamaha Star Racing team for the 2025 season. The veteran joined the team prior to the 2023 Monster Energy Supercross season and captured one win (2024 San Francisco Supercross) in his two seasons with the team.
Smith, who began his career with the now defunct GEICO Honda squad, and spent time with Troy Lee Designs prior to signing with Star Racing, is expected to move to Factory Triumph for next year.
Pierce Brown Is Leaving Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GasGas
Pierce Brown has confirmed he will not return to the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GasGas team in 2025.
The Utah native, who has spent his entire pro career with the team since turning pro in 2019, is rumored to be joining the Monster Energy/Star Racing Yamaha team for 2025.
Brown, who won his first career main event at the SuperMotocross season finale in Las Vegas on Saturday night, thanked the team on Instagram.
Max Vohland Finds New Team
After beginning his career at Red Bull KTM and spending one season with Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki, Max Vohland is joining Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX Yamaha for 2025. Vohland missed most of his only season on Kawasaki with a badly injured hip.
Fire Power Honda Adds Joey Savatgy
Following a tough debut season with Factory Triumph in the 250 Class in Pro Motocross, Joey Savatgy has landed a new 450 deal. Joe Dog has signed with Fire Power Honda after parting ways with Triumph prior to the SuperMotocross Playoffs.
As Triumph won’t launch its 450 team in 2025 (it will be launching its 450 bike soon), Savatgy wanted a 450 deal and will race the 2024 FIM World Supercross Championship with the team before competing in the 2025 Monster Energy Supercross, Pro Motocross and WSX season with the Honda team.
McAdoo and Hammaker Return
Some rumors had been circulating on Seth Hammaker potentially moving on to another team for the 2025 season, however on PulpMX show a few weeks back, those rumors were squashed.
Team owner Mitch Payton confirmed to Steve Matthes that he has re-signed both Seth Hammaker and Cameron McAdoo for next year.
Christian Craig Leaving Rockstar Energy Husqvarna
After two seasons with the brand, Christian Craig is parting ways with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna. It is expected he will return to Monster Energy/Yamaha Star Racing on a 450 deal.
His wife Paige posted the following:
“And that’s a wrap with the Rockstar Husqvarna crew ❤️ to put it lightly, we definitely got to experience the rollercoaster of dirt bikes together. We didn’t get far into the first year before a crash in the whoops would completely change the trajectory of the next year. In this time, there were so many opportunities for the team to just write Christian off and not deal with it anymore but they didn’t. This sport will chew you up and spit you out over and over but all it takes to keep going is having some people in your corner reassuring you it’s going to be ok and to keep going- thank you guys for being that during the most mentally draining injury of Christian’s career. Thank you for the fun summer together, for dealing with my existence and I’m sorry for any cavities from my candy salads. Also please keep those Rockstar Focus’s stocked up for me.”
Garrett Marchbanks Returning to Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki
This was official earlier this year, after Marchbanks parted ways with Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX Yamaha and returned to Pro Circuit at Unadilla and rode SuperMotocross with the team.
Marchbanks turned pro with Pro Circuit in 2018 and spent his first three pro seasons under the tent before moving to ClubMX Yamaha for the 2021 season. He rode for ClubMX until mid-way through the 2024 Pro Motocross season.
