I was going to stop with the bold predictions. Then I picked Deegan to win A2, Anderson to rebound, J Cooper to breakout and I couldn’t. Don’t go read the other picks. I think Troy wrote those.

Striking while the iron is hot, I’ve decided to continue my 5 bold (mild) predictions for another week as we head into round 4 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship this Saturday at Glendale.

Read on…

#5 Fourth Winner in as Many Rounds

Don’t look now, but we are in the midst of one of the best starts to Monster Energy AMA Supercross in history. Consider this, just in the 450 Class:

  • We’ve had three winners in three rounds (Chase Sexton, Eli Tomac and Jett Lawrence)
  • We’ve had three riders hold the red plates (Sexton, Tomac and Ken Roczen)
  • The top five in points (after three rounds) are separated by just 10.
  • And, we have a Triple Crown THIS SATURDAY!

We all like to say “THIS YEAR IS THE BEST” and while sometimes true and sometimes the product of recency bias, I want to proclaim right here, right now: THIS IS THE BEST THREE ROUNDS IN HISTORY!

Ok, maybe not, but it’s been an amazing start to the year and I think it gets even better this weekend with three races that actually count. And, we get a fourth winner in four rounds when Ken Roczen extends his points lead.

#4 Jo Dog Top 8

One rider we haven’t talked about a ton this year is Joey Savatgy. While he hasn’t had the best start to the year—21-10-11 through three rounds—it hasn’t been terrible when you consider the last time he rode a 450 in Monster Energy AMA Supercross prior to this year was 2023! Joey is one of those dudes, like Malcolm Stewart early in his career, that should have gotten more support in the 450 Class, but just hasn’t. This year he’s found a good landing spot on Quadlock Honda Racing (formerly Fire Power Honda) and has been pretty good through three rounds. While you make look at an 11th at Anaheim 2 and not think much on it, look who he finished behind: Jett Lawrence, Ken Roczen, Jason Anderson, Chase Sexton, Hunter Lawrence, Justin Cooper, Eli Tomac, Cooper Webb, Malcolm Stewart and Justin Barcia. Talk about a murderers row. With a few rounds under his belt, like J Cooper last week, Jo Dog is primed for his best finish of the season in Glendale.

#3 Schocking the World

We need to put some respect on Coty Schock’s name. All this dude has done since joining the Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX Yamaha team as a castaway last year is perform. The team threw him a life raft when he got dropped by another team and he’s rewarded them with top 10 finish after top 10 finish—even with a damn broken collarbone last year.

Since joining the team in the 250SX East Region in 2024, Schock has 10 top ten finishes and has gone 6-6-5 to begin 2025. While he has yet to podium during that span—his best finish a fourth in Detroit last year—he’s been soooooo close. That changes this weekend thanks to the Triple Crown. Consistency will win out this weekend and as I just showed you, Coty has been rock solid. First career podium Saturday.

#2 Dylan Bounces Back

Crazy to think that just a few years ago Dylan Ferrandis won the Pro Motocross Championship… AS A ROOKIE! Yeah, man, he was good. Ask Jeeves. While he hasn’t gotten back to that level in Supercross since his rookie season, he’s been solid. I think we forget he went 5-6-6 to begin 2024 and overall had 10 top ten finishes in 12 rounds. Apparently he’s been sick to begin this year, so take his start to 2025 with a grain of salt. I think we see a different rider this weekend, with his first top 8 of the year.

#1 Deegan Wins Again

Bold, I know, but hey, gotta keep my percentages up.
