Remember after Houston 2, when Justin Barcia was the points leader and the top nine in 450 points were separated by just 10 points?
Remember how this was going to be the best year ever and how the points were going to be so close between like seven guys and blah blah blah?
Remember when Slaw warned ya’ll that this season was basically the same as any other? No. Here’s a refresher.
As much as it pains me to say, we are probably down to a two-rider title fight after just eight rounds. Is this different from any other year? No, not really. The title usually comes down to two or three riders and that’s just the way the cookie crumbles, my dogs.
Unless Eli Tomac can dig himself out of an unprecedented hole and go on a run, it looks like it will be Ken Roczen vs Cooper Webb all the way down to Salt Lake City 2.
Will Roczen and Webb win every race from here on out? Nah, probably not. This is still a very deep field, but the championship is down to those two, IMHSO (in my honest Slaw opinion).
With that in mind, here’s the tale of the tap through eight rounds with Daytona coming up this weekend.
