Josh Hill will be on the line come this Saturday at the 2022 Monster Energy Supercross opener at Anaheim.
The veteran has been tapped to be a fill-in rider for Team Tedder/Monster Energy/Lucas Oil/KTM. Benny Bloss, who was signed by the team this off-season, suffered an ankle and collarbone injury recently that required surgery and will be out for at least the opening rounds of the series.
“I got a call from my friend Dakota [Tedder, team manager] the day before Christmas that unfortunately Benny Bloss had gotten injured. So I will be filling in on Team Tedder until he is back to 100%,” Hill wrote on Instagram. “With just over a week’s notice, it’s going to be tough to be up to pace. But I’m stoked to be back racing at Anaheim.”
No longer a full-time racer, Hill has been busy the last few months. He competed at Red Bull Imagination, has a testing role with the Stark VARG electric motorcycle and raced the Paris Supercross.
Hill raced three rounds in the 450SX Class in 2021, finishing 16th at Atlanta 2 and 17th at Atlanta 3. He did not qualify for the main event at Atlanta 1.
