While we haven’t even gotten through the entire 2023 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, this off-season has me foaming at the mouth.
After Ken Roczen dominated off-season headlines a year ago (which was awesome, btw) this coming Silly Season is going to be BANANAS.
Pretty much EVERYONE is up and that doesn’t include any 250 riders who may move up. LOOK AT THIS LIST BELOW!
Note: Just because a contract is “up” does not mean we are implying that rider is leaving the team. Also, this is only 450 Class.
Red Bull KTM
Cooper Webb – Signed a one-year extension this off-season.
Aaron Plessinger – Two-year deal ends in 2023.
Marvin Musquin – On SX-only one-year deal for 2023.
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna
Malcolm Stewart – On the second year of a two-year deal.
Christian Craig – Signed a two-year deal this past off-season.
Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GasGas
Justin Barcia – Current deal ends after the 2023 season.
Honda HRC
Chase Sexton – 2023 will be the last year of Sexton’s current deal with the team.
Colt Nichols – On a one-year SX-only deal.
Jett Lawrence – Signed through 2025. Will move to 450s for Pro Motocross.
Monster Energy/Star Racing Yamaha
Eli Tomac – On a one-year deal.
Dylan Ferrandis – Signed a one-year contract extension this off-season.
Justin Cooper – Unknown.
Monster Energy Kawasaki
Adam Cianciarulo – Signed a two-year deal this off-season. It will end in 2024.
Jason Anderson – His original contract with the team is up after 2023.
Twisted Tea/Progressive/HEP Motorsports/Suzuki
Ken Roczen – The PR announced in its signing it was for the “2023” season so we’re assuming Ken is on a one-year deal.
Kyle Chisholm – Signed a two-year deal with the team this past off-season.
Brandon Hartranft – Unknown.
Shane McElrath – On a one-year deal with Suzuki.

Nothing new here, teams change out riders that dont gel with teams or the bike. AP would suit a KX , Webb on a gas gas.
Tomac takes his pick, Malcolm anything with a roll cage.
Its down to what fits the team and bike. These riders are all top athlete’s but they all find something they need on those bikes.
Then the factory changes it and what did work, might not work anymore. When a rider looses confidence on a machine hes contracted to race as fast as that bike will go, well you know that outcome. Good luck to all these guys, they risk it all week in week out, on a tough schedule with a lot of testing and traveling.
Dont forget bobby hewitt and Triumph. Anderson is going there. Sexton is redbull KTM. For the rest its gonna crazy. It rwjuvantes the racing.
