Vurbmoto Tested: Cardo Systems PACKTALK EDGE

What’s up guys? I’m Ashton Bloxom, the official Test Rider of vurbmoto.com. Recently I was lucky enough to try out a new product from Cardo, so today we will break it all down. Tired of having to wait on your kid to get off the track to yell at him? Do you ever wish you could listen to music while wearing a helmet? What about communicate with your friends while doing two wheel activities?

Well, now you can with the PACKTALK EDGE from Cardo Systems. I got the opportunity to test this product and give my opinions to you guys. The PACKTALK EDGE is a Bluetooth device that allows you to communicate with others while riding as well as listen to music. The device has the ability to clip to the side of your helmet or you can stick it to the side.

You can connect with up to 15 friends and all talk while riding within one mile of each other. The PACKTALK EDGE is waterproof and made tough to withstand anything you throw at it. It is equipped with JBL audio to make your experience sound amazing.

I also got to test the PACKTALK EDGEPHONES along with it.. The EDGEPHONES are an over the ear headset that allows you to communicate with any of the Cardo System products. This is the perfect setup for a dad or a coach looking to communicate with their rider while they are on the track. I tested this product with my dad. I did lap after lap having him talk to me the whole time. I was very surprised with how well it worked. I could hear him from any point of the track no matter what I was doing out there.

I know what everyone’s thinking, “I wouldn’t be able to ride with someone in my helmet”. Well, I thought the same thing but it was actually not as overpowering as you would think while trying to concentrate. Luckily you have the ability to talk back if needed. You can adjust the volume of your device to your preferred liking, so if you did want that person to be quiet you can make that happen on the fly.

The music portion was a bit tricky for me to get to work while riding on the track. I assumed that feature was meant for an activity where you can keep your phone with you. I wanted to hear how the music sounded, so I went home and took it for a spin on my Honda Grom. I’ve tried to figure out a way to be able to wear earbuds while riding my Grom in the past and have had zero luck getting them to fit inside my helmet.

With the PACKTALK EDGE the speakers are low profile and fit inside the ear holes of your helmet. I had zero problems listening to music while having my phone on me. The music sounded crisp and clear and I never had a connectivity issue. The system worked flawlessly through my phone and the best part was I was able to control the volume through the dial on the EDGE.

Overall I would say this is an awesome product to have if you’re looking to be able to communicate while riding or if you’re searching for the perfect way to listen to music inside your helmet. This product surprised me and I think this is a huge leap in innovation for our sport. I believe it is a perfect product for doing activity that involves 2 or 4 wheels with friends.
