We Are Holding a $50 Team Race at OMC in Boise, ID This Weekend

Hidden in the mountains of Boise, Idaho, sits one of the best tracks in the state. And its history runs deep.

It was actually started way back in May 1935 and was called the Western Ramblers Club. Eventually renamed the Owyhee Motorcycle Club to this day it is still a member supported and directed motor sports club. Another fun fact: in 2022, it became the first motorcycle-related club or track in the entire country to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Vurb’s history at this track is quite extensive as well, as we held our first ever event here back in 2012 and VurbWes meet his now wife at this very facility. No lie.

This weekend, we return!

What is this weekend all about? A fun time with good friends, mixed with some good times – on and off the track.

The weekend will feature a team race we have dubbed “The Turkey”. It will be a 1.5HR race on the regular track and feature 1-4 team members. You can do it solo, but first you might want to hear the twist.

Each team member must demolish a turkey leg during the race. Yes, a full-sized turkey leg. So, if you want to do it solo, that means you are eating four turkey legs and riding for an 1.5. Good luck.

The Dets on the Turkey Race

+ Length: 1.5HRs

+ Riders: 1-4 team members

+ Size: Supermini and Up (No mini bikes). Run what ya brung. Vintage, 250, 450… whatever.

+ Everyone can ride their own bikes and each team (even solo riders) must complete 4 turkey legs in the duration of the race

+ Cost: $50 per team

+ One team member will pay the initial $50 fee. Team members will check in upon arrival. It’s up to you to get your buddies to pay you back!

+Will be capped at 40 teams.

That’s not the only thing that is taking place this weekend, no sir.

The weekend will feature mini bike and vintage racing on Saturday, followed by The Turkey Team Race, STACYC racing (use ours or bring your own), the Greenger G3 sponsored Barrel Racing (ride our G3s or bring your own pitter, 110cc and under!) and then another class featuring E-Bikes and 140cc pit machines… all followed up by an adult fun night out in Boise, ID to bench race to our hearts’ content.

On Sunday, the racing will be broken into three division (Good, Better, Best – instead of the typical A, B, C and millions classes) and feature a Vurb Raffle and First Gloves Turkey Dog cookout during intermission.
