WE HAVE RACING THIS WEEKEND!
Paris Supercross returns Saturday and Sunday and we have a stacked lineup. Jett and Hunter Lawrence are in. Cooper Webb will be there. So will Malcolm Stewart, Dylan Ferrandis, Tom Vialle and Jo Shimoda.
As with any off-season race, I try not to take away too much. Looking at Cooper Webb at this race just a year ago.
Seeing as its the off-season and we don’t have much to talk about, I will drop some hot predictions for the weekend.
Jett Wins King of Paris
This will take a lot of you by surprise, but I have Jett Lawrence taking the King of Paris honors for the second straight year. Weird, I know.
While I don’t think we see the same Jett this weekend as we do at A1, he is still the fastest rider in the field. The smaller venue will certainly help his foes, but Jett is Jett.
Webb Will Be Better
Last year left many perplexed as to what Cooper Webb we’d see at A1 after Paris. Well, Cooper did Cooper stuff and finished runner-up in the 2024 AMA Supercross Championship. So, as I stated above, while I don’t take much from this race, I do think we will see a much improved Cooper Webb this weekend.
Some French Dude Will Surprise
Every year, same thing. Some dude from the streets of Paris comes in and blows away a fast American. Just last year French riders took the 5-10 positions. Aside from the U.S., no other country is more equipped at SX then the French. Who is the favorite this year (No Ferrandis does not count)? I’m going with Thomas Ramette. Mark it down.
Shimoda Takes Prince of Paris
Shimoda shined here last year in his Honda HRC debut and took the heart and soul of French fans with his win over Vialle. These two square off again and while Vialle is the defending SX champ, I will be going with the Jo Show.
Malcolm Will Win a SuperPole
Stop me if you heard this before: Malcolm Stewart was on rails in qualifying. Yep, the younger Stew has always had the speed. And while qualifying doesn’t mean much in AMA, this weekend will feature SuperPole racing and my Lead Slaw Lock of the weekend is that Mookie will take the top honors at least once.
