In an Instagram post on Sunday, Justin Starling announced he has parted ways with Team KMR, the independent team operated by fellow racer Kevin Moranz. The team, which started in 2024, had brought on Starling as a second rider for 2025.
In his post, Starling said “financially” he couldn’t make the deal work on his end.
“Financially, the deal just did not make sense,” he said. “I do have a family, our daughter, our house… normal people bills. Financially, I have to do what makes the most sense and that deal did not make sense for us.”
Starling went on to say he does have a deal put together for 2025 with MotoWhips to compete in the SuperMotocross season.
Team KMR posted the following on Instagram about the situation.
“Unfortunately Justin Starling has decided to go his own way and leave KMR. It saddens us to share this when so much effort has been put in. Rest assured we are very grateful for all of our partners and we will see everyone at A1! We wish him the best.”
It is not known at this time if Team KMR will add a second rider for 2025.
