Welcome back to the Vurbmoto Amateur Roundup where each week or so I will be bringing you the latest in Amateur Motocross along with content from social media.
We are just a few days away from the final round of Monster Energy Supercross and at this point every championship has been all but wrapped up. Technically Chase Sexton has not officially clinched yet, but the only way he won’t wrap up the 450SX title is if Eli Tomac has some sort of superhuman ability to ride a dirt bike less than a week after surgery and score 7 points on Chase. Eli is a machine but yeah…
While the 250SX East, 250SX West, and 450SX titles have been decided, the Supercross Futures Championship is still very much active. Both Julien Beaumer and Daxton Bennick have two wins each coming into the final round and are tied in points, which means the five round series will come down to the final round in a winner takes all scenario. Look for Dax and JuJu to battle it out to the end. Both have posted to their social media accounts the work they have been putting in to get ready to Salt Lake. I try not to pick favorites, but after watching Daxton come through the pack in New Jersey, he is my pick for the race winner in Salt Lake as well as the overall championship.
I took a look at the provisional entry list and saw quite a few talented riders on this list that need to be recognized such as Casey Cochran, Mark Fineis, Evan Ferry, Bryce Shelly, and many more. While these riders may not be in the championship hunt, there should be some good racing to watch here at the finale. Unfortunately, Preston Boespflug’s name was not listed on the provisional entry list, and he is still dealing with an injury from earlier in the year. Look for Preston to line up at the Lorretta Lynn’s Amateur Regional Events very soon.
