What is are our Good Times and Dirtbikes Tours all about? Well, it’s simple. The #GTDT is all about having fun on your motorcycle! This is why we’ve decided to do this specific segment, entitled “Why?”, where we catchup with a few riders from a select tour stop and find out why they love riding dirtbikes!
This week in, “Why?”, we catchup with four of the fastest female riders on the Amateur Circuit here in the states, that all happen to train at South of the Border Training Facility!
Name: Shelby Benson
Hometown: Delmar, DE
Why: I like riding dirtbikes because it's pretty rad being able to go around the country doing something you love, and meeting new people from around the world. The thrill of riding a dirtbike is an amazing feeling too, being able to throw my leg over a dirtbike almost everyday and have no worries is a fantastic feeling in itself. That's why I like riding dirtbikes!
Name: Katie Benson
Hometown: Delmar, DE
Why: I like to ride because it's fun and I get to compete. I mostly like to compete with the boys, because there is always more and I have to be more aggressive, especially in the first turn. Also, I like to race with the girls because I find it nice to be able to race together and then have a good friendship off the track. It's cool to be able to have friends from all around the world.
Name: Jordan "JJ" Jarvis
Hometown: Clayton, NC
Why: I like to race because when I am on the track all that matters are my intentions. My focus is on what I need to do to get a good finish (preferably a win)! I like the adrenaline rush when I have a great race with the finish I wanted. I have been racing since I was 5 and I did other sports too, but I love riding and racing. It runs in my blood.
Name: Jamie Astudillo
Hometown: Quakertown, PA
Why: My dad and brother both rode, so I started riding when I was younger. I’m a very competitive person, and also play basketball. MX has let me travel many places and meet a lot of people that I wouldn’t have otherwise. I just love motocross, because good or bad the outcome is on me and no one else.
