Carson Mumford announced on Instagram on Sunday that he is leaving the BarX Suzuki team.
“Would like to give a big thanks to @barxsuzuki for supporting me for the past year and giving me the best opportunities to do what i love ! They stuck with me through all the ups and downs! i learned so much and it was an absolute honor to work with everyone involved! For the remainder of the 2023 SX season my journey has taken me in a different direction. Stay tuned….”
Steve Matthes, he of PulpMX Hockey Fame, is reporting that Mumford has landed a fill-in spot at Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki.
Pro Circuit is currently dealing with a number of injuries as Austin Forkner and Jett Reynolds are both out for Monster Energy Supercross due to injury. Ryder DiFrancesco also recently sustained a thumb injury.
Mumford sustained a broken wrist prior to the start of Supercross, so this might be a deal for the East Region if it comes to fruition.
Mumford was a GEICO Honda prospect before the team folded. He then spent a year with the FXR/Chaparral Honda team before that team folded as well.
He signed with BarX Suzuki for 2022 and finished 12th overall in the 250SX West Region last year and 17th in Pro Motocross.
