Casey Cochran to Sit Out Budds Creek

I’ve been wanting to do an update on the condition of Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Casey Cochran all week long. However, I waited until we had the official word on whether or not he was racing this weekend in Budds Creek.

Well, we don’t have to wait any longer. Today Husqvarna announced that Cochran will not be racing round 10 of the Pro Motocross Championship in Maryland.

According to the post Cochran, “sustained lacerations to his arm in a moto 2 crash at Unadilla which required over a dozen stitches, he will take this weekend off to heal up and will be back on the bike soon. We wish him a speedy recovery and can’t wait to see him back in action!

We’re not a doctor, although we think our own Bird Dog stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but you can’t race with a dozen stitches in your arm. So, I’m going to assume that we won’t see Cochran until the SMX Playoffs start at zMax Raceway in North Carolina on September 7th.

Cochran has had an impressive rookie campaign. He currently sits 12th in the 250MX standings with one overall podium at Spring Creek. He also currently sits 16th in the SMX standings, which should be enough to get him into the playoffs.

We’ll keep you posted on Cochran when we hear more information.
