Ken Roczen tried to break the internet this morning by posting a video of his bike with an ELECTRIC START button on it!
Not only was the button there just for show…HE ACTUALLY PRESSED IT AND SHOWED THAT IT WORKED!!!
What does this mean?
It means that the secret is out. A couple of years ago, Team Owner Dustin Pipes had told me that the team was working on an electric start and here it finally is.
Not only does Roczen have this option available, but Kyle Chisholm also posted a video this morning showing the button. It’s on his story. It could be the same bike, but only they know. I’ve reached out to Chiz for the answers.
We’ll have to see if the electric start makes it’s way onto Roczen’s race bike for this weekend’s race in Texas.
If so, I guess we will have to call Roczen ‘Electric Start Kenny’ from now on?
Suzuki have had electric start on there RMX450Z since it was introduced, back in 2010 just not on there MX bike. The RMZ isn’t the lightest bike and the addition of an electric starter and a light weight battery would have outweighed the advantages. But it would be interesting to see how they have found a solution compared to Suzuki ORM
Looks like a kill switch to me.. how about Kill switch Kenny?
If that’s so, RMX450Z had electric start since 2010? How moronic of Suzuki to not implement the electric start on MX bikes. Already had needed parts in inventory.
