T-Dog’s Takes: 2025 Isn’t a Farewell Tour

Troy Dog joined the bLU cRU and you should too! Have you seen the new 2025 Monster Energy Racing editions? Go look right now! It’s amazing. Yamaha also supports T-Dog Squad ELITE Athlete Marshal Weltin. Purchase a Yamaha today and shred like him, Eli Tomac, Cooper Webb, 250 Pro Motocross and two-time 250SMX Champion Haiden Deegan, plus more!

As we all know, the legendary Eli Tomac has signed a one-year deal with the Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha team to contest the 2025 SuperMotocross Championship.

To be honest I never thought that Tomac would even be racing in 2025. I remember back in the 2023 Monster Energy Supercross Championship, Tomac was on a SX only contract at the time. He had a decent points lead and then committed to the Pro Motocross Championship before his Achillies injury in Denver

Had Tomac won the SX Championship that season, then gone outdoors, I truly feel like 2024 SX may have been the end of the road…or maybe even Pro Motocross would have been it for him that summer.

However, the injury happened, which put him out until this year’s Supercross opener and here we are. The time off has refueled Tomac and he’s been very open about that in press conferences and interviews. Dare I say it, Tomac is showing an outspoken side to himself that we haven’t seen yet. He’s often reserved and watches what he says, but now he seems to be enjoying himself in interviews and he’s able to give his stance on some hot topics that are asked.

In fact: Tomac is having more fun racing now than he ever has! He’s even making bank racing the World Supercross Championship!

With this in mind, I think the goals are a little higher for Tomac in 2025. I don’t think he’s going into the season with a goal of a ‘farewell tour’ so to speak. I think he’s got his sights on winning Supercross, Motocross, and the SMX Championship. He wants to go out a champion.

Now, can he do this?

DON’T YOU PUT THAT ON ME!!! One thing that I will never do is question whether or not that Eli Tomac can win a championship. Sure, the odds are against him right now with age…and he has this guy named Jett…oh and Chase…to deal with on a weekly basis. Can Tomac bring the ‘Beast Mode’ every week?

I don’t think we saw the best Tomac this season either. I know he’s got more in the tank and he’s got more goals to accomplish before he closes the curtain on his incredible career.
