Eli Tomac is back… riding at least.
The multi-time AMA Supercross and Motocross champion posted a video on his personal Instagram last Friday just hauling ass at his track in Colorado. While there was hope that Tomac could return for the final few rounds of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, in the caption he said his goal is now round 1 of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship which kicks off May 24 in California at Fox Raceway and maybe, just maybe, the final round of AMA Supercross in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 10.
“Back at it! Goal as of now is @promotocross round 1, would love to sneak in the last round of SX, but we’ll see where the next couple of weeks take us. 🦵😅”
Tomac has been out since the Tampa Supercross in February when he sustained a broken fibula in qualifying.
What was initially thought to be an ankle sprain and bruised calf, Tomac gutted through the night show in Tampa and finished 17th place. After further evaluation following the race, it was discovered that he had a broken fibula. The following week, he would undergo surgery in Vail, Colorado.
Now, seven weeks later, Tomac is back riding and all is right in the world.
