Evan Ferry’s New Look On Phoenix Honda

The curious start to Evan Ferry’s pro career continued this off-season when he signed with Phoenix Honda Racing.

During the 2020-2021 seasons in his amateur career, Ferry was one of the top prospects alongside the likes of Haiden Deegan, Ryder D and more. He had a Factory Husqvarna ride and finished second to Ryder DiFrancesco in the Supermini Class in 2020 at Loretta Lynn’s and backed it up in 2021 with Schoolboy 1 and 125 B/C titles.

At the end of that season, he left Husqvarna for Yamaha and eventually rode a GasGas for his final amateur season in 2023. During that time, he was helping develop the new Triumph 250 and would turn pro in Monster Energy Supercross with the team for its debut season in 2024.

Although he had a multi-year deal with the team, they parted ways mid-way through the season after Ferry raced just one round—the 250SX Region opener in Detroit where he was injured in a first-turn pileup.

Shortly after his departure, Ferry talked with Steve Matthes on the PulpMX Show.

“It was a really hard year, mentally,” he said. “You have to think about obviously none of the races that I did last year went very well. I was basically in the dark for a whole year. I couldn’t talk about what I was doing, and then even for a long period of time, I couldn’t even talk about where I was even living. A lot of that is really hard on somebody. I feel like I’ve always strived off a little of the energy coming off of social media. I think a lot of it was tough just not being able to say anything.

“Honestly the Husky thing, the bridge wasn’t burned,” Ferry said. “People were talking about how i went to three different teams or something crazy, and I burned another bridge at Yamaha, which is also not true. A lot of those rumors that were going around, like the Husky thing, none of those bridges were burnt.”

Ferry signed with WildCat Racing for the Pro Motocross season but didn’t put in great results. This off-season he found a great landing spot with the Phoenix Racing Honda squad for 2025. Recently, our boy Blake Keith at EMRG shot with Ferry aboard his new ride.
