Haiden Deegan, Julien Beaumer Fined Following Seattle Supercross

The Haiden Deegan/Julien Beaumer rivalry boiled over in Seattle on Saturday.

On the track, it was ignited when Deegan made a hard pass on Beaumer late in the 250SX main event. Then, it spilled over off the track, with the two exchanging words post-race and Deegan slapping Beaumer on his helmet.

The point of contention seems to stem from Beaumer posting a photo (in his Instagram story) of Deegan after his arrest that featured his address, which is public record and can be accessed by anyone.

Then, it spilled over onto the podium and the post-race press conference, where the war of words continued.

“It definitely gets a little rowdy, but obviously we were boys being boys,” Deegan said in the post-race press conference. “He grabbed my helmet first and I was like, ‘Hey, don’t touch me,’ but it is what it is. It’s racing. Someone said he’s going to get payback or whatever. We’ll see.”

“Everyone knows what happened to me these last two weeks,” Deegan said on the podium. “He, JuJu went out of his own hands to post on his story that had my address and stuff. And now you’re talking about my family, putting my family in danger and that’s a whole ‘nother scene so I just told him, ‘Don’t do that, Dude. It ain’t cool,’ and he obviously lit back but we’ll see what happens from here on out.”

“To that situation, no worries,” Beaumer said on the podium. “I ain’t the only one who posted his address. So, he can talk all he wants, but that’s public record. I’m not worried about it; he’s got one coming for him in Philly.”

Following the race, Beaumer confirmed to Racer X that both riders were fined by the AMA as a result of the altercation.

Did I hear you say you got fined earlier?
Yeah we both got fined.

For what, specifically?
Code of conduct violation. Grabbing the helmets, it was the touching of helmets.

The 250SX West Division goes on another break this weekend before returning for the East/West Showdown in Philadelphia on April 12. Deegan currently holds a 14-point lead in the championship over Beaumer.
