The motocross community always comes together when one of our own needs help. Whether that be borrowing a tool, or part on race day, or something much, much bigger. Today I’m calling on all of you to help out Jesse Walters.
Jesse is from the Midwest and although I don’t know him, we did race at the same tracks within District 11. I remember being impressed with his speed back in 2011 and 2012. He made a giant leap during that time and moved to the A class very quickly from what I remember. He’s close friends with the Cowboy, Aaron Plessinger as well. The two grew up racing together. From the outside looking in he was a genuine person, who has a lot of buddies around this area. Everyone that knows Jesse likes him. He runs his own roofing company as well, so he’s got a lot on his plate.
…And right now, he needs our help. Here is a note from his sister on his GoFundMe account (which you can access and donate to below.)
“I can’t believe I am writing this, life really likes to throw a wrench into things in ways we couldn’t even comprehend. We all go through life just doing the best we can, never knowing when something may possibly change. My little brother Jesse recently found out that he may be dealing with a form of cancer called Ewings Sarcoma. What he thought was a back ache turned into something very unexpected, and landed him into a whirlwind of procedures that seem to be happening overnight. He was admitted to Cincinnati Childrens a few days ago and it’s been one thing after another since then, from imaging, to PETscans to MRIs you name it. Today Jesse will be administered chemotherapy through a PIC line to help alleviate and kill this monster that has become so common. Jesse is young and strong and I KNOW he will get through this, and he has his wonderful girlfriend Summer by his side. The resilience I have seen through the two of them I simply do not have words for. It’s amazing. We all need a little help sometimes and after the past 4 years of keeping it all together, it’s now his turn. He has worked so hard for what he has, and with all the appointments and recovery he will need a little support to ease the burden of what he is dealing with.”
If you can donate to help out Jesse we all would appreciate it. If you can’t afford to, well just send him a DM and tell him that he’s in your thoughts. He’s a tough dude and I know he will fight through this.
Hang in there Jesse…you’re in our thoughts.
