Some big news always gets talked about at Loretta Lynn’s. Which makes sense, most of the industry arrives in a place with very minimal service and everyone loves to talk about rumors.
I don’t usually report these rumors unless I double check with some good sources, and in this circumstance I have done just that.
Sources say that Carson Wood is allegedly the newest signee to the Monster Energy/Star Racing Yamaha team.
IF this is true, Wood will make his debut with the Star Racing team at Mini O’s in November on a YZ125 in the Schoolboy classes.
I have no idea on whether or not this is a tryout deal as we’ve seen with Daxton Bennick and Gavin Towers recently. So, I’m not going to speculate on that part of the deal yet.
If this somehow doesn’t come to fruition, then I will eat crow and say I was wrong. However I’m pretty confident in my sources and confident enough to make a post about this when I usually don’t.
Carson Wood is currently racing for Team Green and is coming off of a 14th and a second overall in the Supermini 1 and 2 classes, respectfully at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch.
It’s been a while since Star has picked up an athlete this young on an amateur to pro deal. The last time Star tried this they had Matt LeBlanc, Ty Masterpool, and Nick Romano running 85cc, Supermini, and 125cc classes.
The question we have for you is, how much progression will we see out of Wood on a Star bike before it’s time to make his move to the professional ranks?
IF this deal is in fact true, this will be Star Racing’s 91st rider.
