It’s time we put some damn respect on Enzo Lopes name.
While I no longer make any predictions regarding Enzo in the most popular blog in moto, Slawdictions, out of respect to Enzo because he does terrible every time I do, he’s been amazing.
The Brazilian raced his first full season in Monster Energy Supercross in 2019 and finished 19th overall. It wasn’t always pretty, either.
The following year, he finished 5th overall in the championship.
He did the same in 2022.
Enzo is currently fifth in 250SX West Region points with two top 5 finishes. Well, his ride is Seattle is worth a mention.
He rounded the first lap in 13th, but I’m pretty sure he was as far back as 15th at the start of the main and came ALL THE WAY BACK TO FOURTH.
That’s damn impressive and even earned him a compliment from his Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX Yamaha teammate, and maybe future brother-in-law, Phil Nicoletti on the PulMX Show on Monday.
Those aren’t easily earned.
“That’s the Enzo that shows up on a Tuesday at Club and a Wednesday and puts the laps in and doesn’t f*** up,” said Phil. “I was truly impressed… because if he would have had a start, which he fumbled f***** like all hell, he would have been a podium guy that night.”
Lopes trails Mitchell Oldenburg by one point, so fourth overall in the championship is certainly in his sights. Hell, maybe even a podium this season, too.
