Jason Anderson Docked at Ironman

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jason Anderson was docked one position in the second 450 moto at round 11 at Ironman on Saturday.

Anderson finished the moto in third, but was docked one position for accelerating off the track. Due to the penalty, Anderson was credited with fourth, giving Red Bull KTM’s Aaron Plessinger a 3-3 for third overall on the day.

In the first moto, Anderson had a collision with Jacob Runkles in the first turn and was dead last. He still charged all the way back to sixth.

He finished fourth overall on the day with 6-4 motos.

“The bike setup and my qualifying pace were on par for me to contend for the podium positions today but, unfortunately I struggled with my starts in each moto,” he said in a press release. “In the first race, I came together with another rider through Turn 1 and we both crashed. I had to come from last, but managed to fight my way forward to get to sixth. In Moto 2, I was just behind mid-pack on the opening lap, so I again had to make a lot of passes to get up into the race for the podium. Overall, we had a strong effort today as a team and will focus on the positives heading into the final round next weekend.”
