Honda HRC Progressive’s Jett Lawrence released an update Sunday on his Instagram after exiting the third and final race at round 4 of Monster Energy AMA Supercross in Glendale Saturday night.
Off the start in the third race, Lawrence was entering the second turn and dabbed his knee. He immediately exited the track and was holding his right knee. He was unable to return to the race and went directly to the medical unit on-site.
Per the TV broadcast, Jett said he hyperextend his knee and that he felt sharp pain. After the race, the broadcast talked with Honda HRC team manager Lars Lindstrom who said the knee “seems stable” after an initial checkup at the race.
On Sunday, Lawrence wrote on his IG that he hopes “my knee is good enough to race next weekend in Tampa.”
“Morning guys super bummed how last night ended just dapped my leg and felt a lot of pain in my knee but I’m getting an mri tomorrow morning so hopefully we will know more by the end of tomorrow.
“A big thank you to the team and everyone the team has been working really hard to get this bike better. Big thank you to everyone’s text too much love to my friends, family and fans hopefully my knee is good enough to race next weekend in Tampa but thank you all and have a good Sunday people.”
Jett is expected to undergo an MRI today (Monday) where the team hopes to learn more about his status moving forward.
I hope Jet has no problems with his knee. Im a fan of ET3 , but you love to see the drive Jet has n I just love too see great riding n Jet is one of the best right now n its better for all the top riders to be competing. That way, no one can say , WELL WHAT IF.. Hope Jet is well.
