Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GasGas’ Justin Barcia has confirmed he will not race the Paris Supercross this weekend due to lack of riding time following injuries sustained at the SuperMotocross final in L.A.
At the finale, Barcia sustained a “few” broken ribs, a broken collarbone, and a “beat up” lung. In a Instagram post, Barcia did confirm he is back riding but hasn’t had enough time to be able to compete this weekend.
“I have three days on a supercross track, feeling good, but definitely nowhere near where I need to be to race,” he said. “With that being said, unfortunately I am going to miss the Paris Supercross this year. I have been working with everyone on the event for a week now, trying to figure out what the best way to go about this is. This is what I think the best way is – just tell everyone what is going on. I am just not fit enough to compete at the top level of the sport right now.”
You can watch his full statement below.
Even without Barcia, the lineup is stacked this weekend with Ken Roczen, the Lawrence brothers, Cooper Webb, Tom Vialle and Jo Shimoda expected to compete.
