It was a rough night for everyone on the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki team in Nashville. The West Region points leader Levi Kitchen found himself down hard right after the start of the Showdown, coming together with his teammate Cameron McAdoo.
Kitchen would remain on the ground and for a minute there it looked as though he might not get back on the bike. Yet, knowing the title was on the line, Kitchen got back on the bike and put on a tremendous charge from last to 14th.
The Chef posted a picture of himself after the race in a hospital bed awaiting further evaluations. He feels that he may have broken some ribs in the crash.
It’s pretty remarkable that Kitchen was able to remount and put in the charge while feeling the effects of potentially broken ribs. With his ride in Nashville, Kitchen did lose the red plate to RJ Hampshire, but he is only down by two points to the Rockstar Husqvarna rider. Two rounds remain in the championship.
We will keep you posted as we learn more information on Kitchen’s condition.
