Mitch Payton is never one to let it be known which riders will ride which coast. He will enter every rider into round one, and then we find out during qualifying at the opener.
WELL, NOT THIS YEAR!
The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki has announced it’s 250SX West Region lineup and it will include Jo Shimoda and Seth Hammaker.
“We began testing new engine and chassis setups during the last few outdoor rounds in preparation for 2022,” says Team Manager Ian Southwell. “Since then, our suspension technicians, Mitch, and myself have furthered what we learned there. Our mechanics have worked hard to implement those changes as well as being at the track with our riders four days a week. Jo and Seth have been riding exceptionally well, both are main event winners and we’ll be expecting nothing less from them in 2022. Our sponsors and suppliers have delivered on our requests despite trying times and everyone is looking forward to Anaheim 1.”
As a rookie in 2021, Hammaker captured one win (Arlington 1) and finished the 250SX West Region fourth in points.
Shimoda also grabbed a win (Salt Lake City 1) and finished the East Region second in points.
This leaves Austin Forkner, Cameron McAdoo and rookie Jett Reynolds to ride the East Region.
