Morning Espresso: 5 250 Riders Poised to Breakout in the Second Half of Pro Motocross

Welcome to Morning Espresso, an awesome piece presented by MotoSport.com. Go check out RDRCO (pronounced “rider-co”) as the company’s exclusive riding gear. This new gear line offers an affordable option for weekend riders and the casual racer.

Going a bit of a different route for MY column this week. Usually I pick some random stuff from around the inter web to feature here, but I didn’t feel like doing that (again, my column) so going to list five 250 riders that are primed for a breakout second half of the year.

Max Ansite

Yes, he didn’t ride the opening four rounds, but I’m not counting that against Mad Max. He’ll debut with Star Racing at Southwick, and I firmly believe he could win there. After that, I think Max is, at the very least, a podium threat every weekend.

Joey Savatgy

I thought his return to the 250 Class would be better, but here we are. I honestly think Joey has been bitten by the bad luck bug. Not in the second half. Joe Dog uses the break to come out firing at Southwick and carries that momentum into the second half of the year.

Mark Fineis

High Point is exactly what the rookie needed. Sure it ended badly, but sometimes you just need that confidence you can run up front and now Marky Mark has that. Look for a big second half from the funky bunch (Google it, kids).

Daxton Bennick

Not the start to his rookie Pro Motocross campaign, but I’m still firmly on the Dax bandwagon. He’s got too much talent not to turn this around.

Ryder McNabb

The Canadian champ has had a rough go in his rookie year in the US, but now that he’s adjusted to the speed, he knows what needs to happen. That begins at Southwick.
