Pulp Raises a Ton of Money For Privateers
When he’s not dropping Silly Season Twitter Bombs, Steve Matthes (he of PulpMX Hockey fame) is raising money for privateers. Once again, Yamaha and PulpMX teamed up for the PulpMX Privateer Championship for Monster Energy Supercross. For $20 per raffle ticket, anyone could enter in for a chance to win a 2021 Yamaha YZ450F along with other prizes. All proceeds would go to the top five privateers who secured the most points in the 450SX LCQ’s throughout the year when finishing outside of a transfer position.
Well, turns out Steve and the moto community raised an amazing $73,640 to give out to privateers. The cash prize was divided out to the top five finishers of the challenge as 60 percent, 20 percent, 10 percent, 5 percent, and 5 percent and Nick Schmidt, the winner, took home $44,184. That’s almost as much as Slaw makes writing these fire blogs. Can we get a Blog Challenge next year, Steve?
Jeremy Smith, AJ Catanzaro, Joan Cros and Ronnie Stewart rounded out the top five. Good on Steve and the moto community.
Insane MotoAmerica Crash
Slaw don’t really watch MotoAmerica, more of a MotoGP guy myself, but I follow the series on Insta and found this insane crash. Let’s break this down:
First, the crash is insane with three dudes going down at the same time. Thankfully no on was seriously injured.
Second, the poor dude not only crashed, but THEN GOT RAN INTO BY ANOTHER RIDER GOING DOWN. Just not your day, dog.
Race Week with Joe Roberts
Speaking of MotoGP, Americans haven’t had much success in the series, and sometimes we don’t even have a rider competing in MotoGP, Moto2 or Moto3, since the late Nicky Hayden. Well, California native Joe Roberts may be our next hope. Roberts is currently sixth in the Moto2 World Championship and is having great success. Red Bull followed Joe all the way through a GP weekend at the iconic Jerez Circuit for round 4 of the 2021 MotoGP season and it’s pretty cool.
SX Live Teammates
One cool thing the guys at Supercross Live are doing this year is a feature called: How Well Do You Know Your Teammate? Slaw wrote about this earlier this year, you can check it out here.
Well, it’s back this time with Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-WPS-KTM teammates Justin Bogle and Joey Savatgy and Twisted Tea Suzuki teammates Adam Enticknap and Brandon Hartranft.
Thanks for Your Continued Support of Vurb
Congrats on a second straight title Coop!
