Last week, HEP Suzuki announced its 450-only 2025 Monster Energy Supercross team, so in this edition of “Most Likely” we’ll take a dive into some pressing questions.
Is Ken Roczen most likely to get a win in 2025?
I don’t see why not. I know it was a long time ago, but I think people forget that before Roczen exited the series following his brutal crash in Nashville, he had already scored one win with five additional podiums, including a third the previous round in Foxborough. On any given Saturday, Roczen is still very much a threat to win. Not only do I think he gets a win, I think he gets two in 2025.
Is this most likely Roczen’s last season with the team?
I think Ken has found a home with Suzuki, a brand he grew up on, but with Ducati and Triumph (450 team) entering the fold in 2026, they need a big name and Roczen, I’m assuming, is one rider they have to be looking at. While I won’t with 100 percent certainty say Roczen is gone after this year, I do think there is a possibility he could leave for one of the new teams entering the fold.
Is this most likely Kyle Chisholm’s last full-time season?
The year is 2039, Chiz is 89 years old and just made a main event for the 50th straight year. In all seriousness, I think we have to see how this year goes. Like Roczen, I think Chiz has found a great home with the team and while this is his 20th (!!!!!!!!!) Supercross season, he still has a lot to give. If I have to make a prediction, I think Chiz returns in 2026.
Is Colt Nichols most likely to finish top 10 in points?
This comes down to if he can stay healthy. Unfortunately, injuries have played a major role throughout Nichols’ career. While he certainly has the speed and talent to finish top 10 in points, I’m not sure he can make it through 17 rounds.
