We are down seven rounds! The Monster Energy Supercross season continues in Daytona on Saturday and in this edition of Most Likely, we examine some key talking points. Like, which Justin Hill will we see? Are we most likely to see a new winner in the 250SX East Division and much more.

Read on…

Which Justin Hill are we most likely to see this weekend?

Slaw: I am so here for the Justin Hill resurrection. After listening to his interview on PulpMX this week, I’m all in on the Hill bandwagon. Book me a spot on Hill Island. Put all my chips in on Hill! He’s in a great spot. Has the confidence. Has the ability. I’m calling it now: Hill wins a race this year. Lead Slaw Lock of the Year.

Are we most likely to see a winner not named Sexton, Webb or Roczen?

Slaw: I know I just said Hill will win a race this year, but it won’t be at Daytona. All three of those guys are insane at Daytona, they have just had to deal with the Beast that is Eli Tomac at the track, hence why they have never won there. Remember the Daytona 2020 battle between Tomac, Webb and Roczen? Yeah, I’m expecting that this weekend, with some Sexton taking the place of Eli.

Is Dax Bennick most likely to return to the podium?

Slaw: I’ve been high on the Dax Wagon for a long time. Just not this weekend and not a podium. He’s been off for a couple weeks and in the meantime, Anstie, Kitchen, and RJ have hit their stride. Add in Vialle—who is great at Daytona and won here last year—and Dax is entering the Lion’s Den this weekend. Top five? Yes. Podium? No.

Are we most likely to see a new winner in 250SX East Division?

Slaw: See above. Yes, yes we are. Tom Vialle will win this weekend. The defending champ is off to a slow start, but remember, this is when he started catching his stride a year ago and won his first career SX. This type of layout favors the Frenchman and he knows sand. Stamp it, Tommy V for the w.

Are we most likely to see more fireworks between Bam and JA?

Slaw: Ehhh… maybe? Nothing would surprise me with these two, but with JA given a written warning for last week and a points and fine looming for another incident, I think this is the last of the fireworks. For now, anyway.
