Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love, served not too kindly to Star Racing Yamaha’s Cooper Webb as his 5-point deficit is now a 12-point gap on HRC Honda’s Jett Lawrence. Jett absolutely nailed this race and it was never a question that he was heads and tails above the competition on Saturday night.
In the 250SX East Region championship, Haiden Deegan had to throw up a Hail Mary on Tom Vialle to close the 13-point gap. The 250SX Main Event ended up being one of the best races of the season with a handful of riders having a chance at the win. Max Anstie won his second 250SX Main Event of his career and first of the season.
Jettson’s Heat Race
Not to go completely “Jett crazy” here, but he fell in the first turn of his heat and came back to fourth place.
Swoll, Triumphant in Heat Race
We’ve been waiting to use this headline all season long. Swoll, who has had an up and down season, was a completely different rider…in his heat race. He snagged Triumph their first win. Heat race or not, this is progression and a big milestone to knock off the list in their first year.
250SX Main Event
Firepower Honda’s Max Anstie made the pass for the lead on Seth Hammaker with less than five minutes to go. The top six were within six seconds late into this race. It was was Max Anstie, Seth Hammaker, Jalek Swoll, Pierce Brown, Tom Vialle, and Haiden Deegan all had a chance to win this one. It was amazing.
Pierce Brown’s Crash
We covered this topic already right HERE, but man was this a big crash for Brown. He was in the hunt for the win late in this one too. Brown has since posted that he is fine and that he will be racing in the Salt Lake City finale.
Swoll Cleans Hammaker
Swoll had Triumph’s first ever podium on lock when he used his jump line into the sand to make a pass on Hammaker for second. They would both remount for 8th and 10th respectively.
450SX Main Event
Jett grabbed the holeshot and checked out.
Sexton on the Charge
Chase Sexton made the move on Eli Tomac halfway through the main and wasn’t finished…
…he made the pass on Webb almost five minutes later.
Webb Crashes In the Final Turn
Jason Anderson charged hard until the last turn and pushed Cooper Webb into a mistake, making the 450SX championship a 12-point gap with two rounds to go.
Max Anstie Wins 250SX Main Event
Anstie won his first main event of the season. PulpMX Hockey’s Steve Matthes has reported that Anstie will ride for Star Racing next season, which will be their 99th rider.
Jett Lawrence Wins 450SX Main Event
Like a poised veteran, Jett has won the last two main events in crunch time.
