Monster Energy/Yamaha Star Racing’s Nick Romano announced on Instagram today that he will miss the entire 2023 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season and likely the entire AMA Pro Motocross Championship after sustaining a torn ACL and meniscus while training.
Romano, who made his pro debut with the team in 2022 in Pro Motocross, sustained a shoulder injury in January which caused him to miss the 250SX East Region opener in Houston last weekend.
According to Romano, he recently sustained a knee injury which will likely rule him out for the entire 2023 season.
“I don’t have the best of news… but I’m going to be out the whole year. As much as that sucks to say, I am going to missing all of Supercross and probably all of outdoors. I don’t really have words. I ended up blowing out my knee—ACL and meniscus—last week while training. Off-season was going great really making a lot of progress with my team and the bike and just everything on Supercross. I felt amazing. Fitness felt good. Riding felt good. January 3rd I had a Grade 3 separation in my shoulder so that’s what technically put me out for Houston.”
