Twisted Tea/HEP Motorsports Suzuki confirmed today that they “will not renew their athlete agreement for the 2022 season” with Max Anstie.
Anstie, who began his racing career in the U.S. before returning to Europe to compete in the MXGP series, signed with the team back in 2019, and spent two years on the Suzuki. After missing all of the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross season due to an Achilles tendon injury, Anstie finished the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship ninth in points in 2020.
He made his 450 Monster Energy Supercross debut in 2021, finishing the season 21st in points. Following a full season of Supercross, Anstie would finish the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship in 11th, ending the season with back-to-back sixth place overall finishes at Fox Raceway 2 and Hangtown.
Although nothing has officially been announced, it is expected Anstie will move over to the Rocky Mountain ATV-MC/WPS/KTM team in 2022.
As for the Twisted Tea/HEP Motorsports Suzuki team, it is expected they will sign Justin Bogle to replace Anstie.
Stay tuned on those fronts.
