The battle for the Horizon Award is set to commence this Saturday at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
Under sweltering heat and insanely rough track conditions, Zach Osborne got the jump on the field last Saturday, winning the second of what will be four motos at the Ranch and inching one step closer to the prestigious award.
The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider enters the final two motos with 2-1 scores.
Behind Osborne is teammate Jason Anderson, who won the first moto last Saturday. He finished sixth in moto two and currently sits second overall. Anderson previously won the Horizon Award in 2010.
Three-time Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Champion Eli Tomac is seeking his first career Horizon Award this Saturday. After a stunning seventh in moto one, Tomac bounced back to finish second in moto two. He enters the weekend third behind the Rockstar duo.
Marvin Musquin made his first trip to the Ranch on Saturday and is fourth with 4-5 motos. Justin Barcia is fifth with 3-7 motos. They are both looking for their first Horizon Award.
The final motos kick off at the Ranch this Saturday.
