Dammit. Right when we were about to get Phil Nicoletti back in action, the Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX Yamaha rider was injured this week in a practice crash.
He provided the following update on IG today:
“You learn more in the darkest times than you do when everything is going to plan. You question all the sacrifices that come to reaching your goals. No matter how hard you work and stay committed to this craft, their is no guarantee it’ll go to plan as you’d like. The lows make the highs that much better when you get there. Injuries heal, but the time wasted does not.
“Tuesday I had a crash. Resulted in breaking my Ulna again to the point I need some more hardware. Back to square one, and the rebuild continues once again.”
Nicoletti finished 12th in the 250SX East Region in 2022, but has missed all of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross after breaking his ulna during supercross.
If there is a silver lining here, which we here at Vurb like to look for, Phil has already re-signed with the team and will once again compete in the 250 Class in Monster Energy Supercross and the 450 Class in Lucas Oil Pro Motocross in 2023.
Get well, Phil.
