“That to Me is Unacceptable.” Nicoletti On the High Point Track Prep and the Track Builder Called in the PulpMX Show to Discuss

Leave it to Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX’s Phil Nicoletti to be outspoken about something, right?

Nicoletti was on the PulpMX Show on Monday night (shocker) and had some comments about the High Point track this past weekend. It decided to rain on Saturday night, which messed up the track prep for the event.

“The High Point track to me, is the worst track on the circuit, that’s me,” Nicoletti said. “I don’t know what the deal was with the prep, I have no idea what happened, but it was a quagmire. That to me is unacceptable.”

Phillip also went onto say that Pala is not the worst track on the circuit anymore, and in his opinion, High Point has now taken that spot.

“They just pushed around slop all day,” Phil went onto say. “They have no digger and no ripper, if they would have just taken it and ripped it with the mud and hard packed that was underneath it, they would have had a decent race track.”

This prompted Randy Poulter, Pro Motocross track builder, to call in and defend himself.

“The way we look at the stats, there were more lead changes than there were in the last six rounds, even counting last year,” Poulter said. “There was nobody transported (to the hospital), so they’re going slow, racing is racing and everyone had to ride that same pile of crap.”

Poulter went onto say that a tractor will not make it up and down the hills at High Point, especially after rain. That’s why the track wasn’t ripped in the morning per Phil’s gripes.

Nicoletti and Poulter had talked about the prep after the race as well.

The moral of the story is that Phil is gonna Phil and will always find something to complain about. Heck, I remember our own idiot Slaw Dog putting up a photo on this website that was too old for Phil’s liking and he called me out on it.

“You guys would use a two-year old bike,” he said to me.

I would absolutely hate to be Phil’s waiter at a restaurant. Could you imagine Phil at a restaurant in 40 years? I can hear it now.

‘My soups ice cold, could you warm it on the stove for me instead of a shitty, dirty, microwave? Oh, and this bread is stale, could you please bring me out some more that hasn’t been left out for a month?’

Come to think of it, he sounds like that now. C’mon people, let’s strive to be better and make Phil happier.

God bless.

Listen to the entire interview below. Phil’s interview starts around the 34 minute mark and Poulter calls in around 51 minutes in.
