Pierce Brown Injury Update Following Tampa Supercross

On Sunday, Monster Energy/Yamaha Star Racing’s Pierce Brown released an update following his crash in the 250SX East Region main event Saturday night in Tampa.

Brown, who was making his debut with Star Racing, was leading the main event when he went down hard in the whoops. The race was eventually red flagged as Brown was carted off the track on a backboard.

In his post, Brown said he sustained a broken T5 vertebrae and has already undergone surgery.

“Damn what a night! I felt great all night leading my heat and main! Halfway through the main I crashed in the whoops. Unfortunately I broke my T5 vertebrae. I had surgery today to get it fixed so that I could get back to racing. I want to thank all my family, friends, fans, and Star racing Yamaha for all the support. I will keep you guys updated on my recovery.”

At this time, there is no timetable on his return.
