-The enigma that is Justin Hill continues. If Hill Dog is feeling it, watch out. He is lethal. Just straight up passing Tomac and other factory dudes. If Justin Hill can put it all together one night, the podium better watch out.
-41 living off a diet of Advil and Icy Hot, Lano is a hero to all us Washed Up Dirtbikers. Long live LANO!
–Mosiman retired! He was done racing. No mas. Now, he’s getting top fives in the West Region. Shows the talent this dude has.
-Jordon has been through it all. Injuries. Title contender. Off the factory radar. And now, he will go down in history having delivered Triumph its first win.
-Crazy to think: Triumph won a SX in less than a year after its debut.
-The next big thing!
-Didn’t even need a win to take the overall and the red plates back. Flex!
-Got out of the West Coast very much in the title chase. Exactly what he needed.
-Entertaining on and off the track!
-We need to talk about this dude more. The last two years have been impressive.
Wes Dog Pre-Tampa Supercross Rankings

There are only two more hours before the DOORS OPEN at the 250SX East Region opening round press conference for the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross. I flew across the country yesterday (Thursday) to join in on the action, and while sitting on a plane literally all day isn’t as much fun as it should be, I think it’s safe to say it’ll be well worth the sky miles come tomorrow evening when we have 11 factory riders, plus so many fast guys, (hopefully) all lined up for the gate drop of the 250E main event. And thanks to GUTS, here’s my rundown of my Vurbmoto Power Rankings this week:
250E: There’s no choice but to rank this class at the top, even though we haven’t seen a gate drop yet, confirmed the multiple injury rumors, or laid eyes on any of these guys via test track videos. Side note: Isn’t it crazy that test track videos were the norm, and now there are only a handful each preseason? We now have two reigning 2024 champions on the gate: Tom Vialle and RJ Hampshire (not Hamphire, as was reported on Vurbmoto IG yesterday). The craziest thing is that, AT MINIMUM, one factory racer won’t even make the top 10.
Tomac: He may not have landed on the podium last week, but he got the final win of the night during the Glendale Triple Crown. And Eli was just doing Eli things. Now that Jett’s out, I think Eli is in the power position to take control of the championship.
Red Plate: The first repeat winner of 2025. Chase Sexton should likely be in the second spot here, but I’m too hesitant at the moment with only four rounds in the books.
Triumph: I can’t believe Triumph got their first win. Well, actually, I can—what an incredible feat in such a short time. It’s amazing that Jordon Smith—a “kid” I’ve been shooting since he was just a grasshopper—was the one to get it done. I don’t get emotional much when watching a race, but this was one of those rare moments when my heart and eyes were welling up for sure. Only two points out from the red plate… Just sayin’.
Ken Roczen: He might’ve lost the red plate, but Ken Roczen is still very much in this conversation. He beat Jettson straight up in the second race in Glendale and managed to land on the podium yet again. Kenny’s on fire.
Gypsy: Speaking of being on fire, one of my best friends, Jase Macalpine, is literally on fire—okay, not literally, but he says literally literally all the time, so I had to say it. I’ve been able to watch him chase his dream since 2010, and it’s incredible to see the exponential growth of GypsyTales, especially over the past 12 months. He’s a slaughterhouse of celebrity appearances right now, and the content is just getting better and better. As his friend and fellow entrepreneur, I’m very proud of what he’s accomplished.
JT: JT is just crushing it on the broadcast, so he deserves a spot on the GUTS Power Rankings without a doubt. His knowledge and talent continue to be a great addition to our TV package, and the fan in me truly appreciates what he brings to the table. Another amazing talent to highlight is his ability to globe-trot like he does and just stay on it. It’s remarkable, to say the least.
AF Racer X Cover: I saw DC post this cover last week, and yeah… mind blown. Epic image, epic style, epic rider. I wrote about Austin Forkner’s chances of winning the opening round.
Cole Davies: From winning SMX Next to damn near winning a 250W overall in a 12-month timespan, I think the future of the 250 class has arrived. He’s going to get a win or two this year, but 2026 and beyond could very well be the Cole Davies train.
Refs: Refs this, refs that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I’m on the Chiefs train, and they’re about to make history.
