POWER RANKINGS ARE HERE!
Troy Dog and Slaw Dog are back for another season of Power Rankings! Yes, we understand that other power rankings lists exist, but OURS matter more. They just do mate! We pull more weight and our opinions are always spot on. So, if you make the list then you’re an absolute unit. Let’s get into the second round of Pro Motocross at Hangtown!
Slaw Dog
-Say what you want, but Deegan makes these interesting.
-What else would we be talking about all week?
-The STREAK continues this weekend.
-Deegan might be my favorite for the title now. He looked so good at Fox.
-Hunta was much better than I thought he would be. I knew he would be fast, but challenging Jett? I did not have that in my bingo cards.
-Same as Hunta, much better and looked great on the bike.
-He’s starting to cook.
-What an opportunity for the kid. Much deserved.
-Way better than I thought. Let’s see him back it up this weekend, though.
Troy Dog
– The guy is the best in the world right now.
– Mark Fineis went 14-11 for 12th overall in the 250 class on his Muc-Off/FXR-ClubMX Yamaha. It was his second national of his career and he opened a lot of eyes to his potential. He was my guest on the Squad Pod this week and we talked about a variety of topics like getting yelled at by Phil, switching from the Austrian bikes to a Yamaha, growing up on Orange Brigade KTM, and how he has abandoned his midwest roots.
– Phil went 9-9 at a track he absolutely hates and was up in the battle for moto 2!
– Deegs should honestly be higher on the list. He went 1-1 in convincing fashion at his home track.
– The Chef is going to be Deegan’s biggest title threat this season and he was sensational at Fox Raceway.
– Off track penalties told the story of the 250 class at the opener. We had no idea who won the race until around midnight on Saturday (EST). This week should hopefully be a little easier for the AMA.
– Hunter Lawerence was as strong as I thought that he would be at the first round. Now WE build from this and we will start to chip away at his brother and Chase Sexton a little more each week.
– Dean Wilson is a treasure. He raced Fox Raceway out of his pickup and went 11-16 for 14th overall and I think he should race the rest of the championship when he gets back from Australia.
– Derek Kelley’s arm injury was bad. He’s been sitting out since November and had two surgeries. One to fix the first surgery. A 14th in the first moto and running top ten at one point was an epic return. He crashed in the first turn of moto 2 and broke his handlebars in a freak accident. He’ll be ready for Hangtown.
– Ashton Bloxom is a Journeymen electrician and he helps run Bloxom Construction with his father. Working a full-time gig. He also comes out to race the Pro Motocross Championship every summer. Bloxom has had to overcome a handful of surgery reconstructions and he has the scars to prove it. He made it in the main show off of his qualifying time at Fox Raceway. He’s ready to take on the next ten rounds.
