POWER RANKINGS ARE HERE!

Troy Dog and Slaw Dog are back for another round of Power Rankings! Yes, we understand that other power rankings lists exist, but OURS matter more. They just do mate! We pull more weight and our opinions are always spot on. So, if you make the list then you’re an absolute unit!

This week we ranked the most overlooked champions of the 125/250 East/West divisions. This list isn’t meant to offend any of these riders, but we feel that the ones on this list maybe don’t get the respect that they deserve. It’s guys that you go, ‘Oh yeah, I forgot they won that!’ As always feel free to tell us our lists are terrible (especially Slaw’s) and add your list in the comments!

  • Jimmy Gaddis’ championship on the East Region in 1993 doesn’t get enough credit at all. If you remember 1993 was the first season that Pro Circuit switched to Kawasaki, and from what I remember reading and hearing, the bike wasn’t all that great. Gaddis won the championship and proved that Pro Circuit parts on any OEM could get the job done.
  • “YEAH…I FREAKIN’ WON IT!” These words will forever wake David Pingree up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night for the rest of his life. The 2000 West Region Championship went down to the final round in Dallas. A huge crash in the first turn turned the race upside down for the several title contenders in the field. It was so bad that after the race everyone was scrambling to make sure they added the points correctly for the winner of the title. This series had five main event winners and this was the biggest moment of Bentley’s career. Another #1 plate for PC.
  • Now that I think of it…I don’t ever remember hearing Branden Jesseman speak before…He won the 2003 East Region title by seven points over Mike Brown. He had three wins that season in Minneapolis, Indy, and St. Louis on his Sobe Suzuki. It was also Fly Racing’s first championship!
  • Justin Hill put together a hot streak in 2017 with four straight wins in the 250SX West Region in Anaheim 2, Phoenix, Oakland, and Arlington. He had eight straight podiums as well. The next season he changed teams from Pro Circuit to JGR Suzuki. He got one win in 2018, but he wasn’t the same rider as he was the year before. Is he racing Supercross in 2025? We will have to wait and see…
  • Travis Preston’s 2002 West Region title will forever live on as he was the man to beat James Stewart for a title. Stew was a 16-year-old rookie at the time and was having his issues with crashing along with winning. Preston put his Factory Connection Honda and veteran skills to play and won the title in the last round by seven points.
