POWER RANKINGS ARE HERE!
With the off-weekend we decided to do something fun and change up our rankings for the week. We (I, Troy Dog, and not Slaw) decided to create a list of the most underrated racers of all-time. How do you decide who is underrated? Well, that’s completely up to your opinion. We have some champions on our list even. It’s just riders that we feel don’t get the attention or respect that they deserve for their accomplishments.
Who is on your list? Drop it in the comments!
Slaw Dog
-Did you know Marv finished runner-up twice in 450 Pro Motocross (2018, 2017) and once in 450SX (2018). He also finished third in 450 Pro Motocross (2019, 2016) and is also a 250SX East Region champ. He tops my list. Dude was a beast.
-Just look at these stats on MX Kied. Maybe I should have him one?
– Four-time National motocross champion.
– One of two riders in history to win a National motocross championship in all three classes.
– When he retired he was fifth on the list of all-time combined SX and MX wins.
– He won the Daytona Supercross three years in a row.
– He won three races in his final year of competition, meaning he was still on top of his game.
– Rode for Team USA four times at the MXDN and went 3-1.
-Erza was a beast, too bad he had to race some dude named McGrath and a dude named Emig. Not only did Lusk win a 125SX East Region title, but he achieved podium success 80 times with 16 wins in the premier class. Beast!
-Doug was the man. I don’t need to run down his stats, we all know he was a mad man.
-If not for shoulder injuries, Dean would have been a 450 champ. Don’t believe me? Go back and watch his 250 career.
Troy Dog
– MX Kied came onto the pro scene in 1989 and won the 125 Pro Motocross Championship as a rookie. Then he won it again in 1991. Then in the premier class he won the 500 Pro Motocross Championship in 1992 and the 250 title in 1993. The dude was a winning machine and then retired at the end of 1995. He returned to racing in 1997 for Honda of Troy before moving onto WORCs racing. Making him the most underrated champion this sport has ever seen.
– Larry Ward had a LONG career and it was so consistent. You never knew when he was going to pop off a win. He was always in the top ten overall in points by the end of a series, give or take a couple. His career lasted from 1989 to 2003. He mostly had privateer caliber rides for the duration of his career and made it work.
– Kyle Lewis was one of the best starters of all time and he also had a LONG career. It lasted from 1987 until 2007 and he raced a couple nationals in 2008! A great career with some 125 SX wins in the history books as well. Oh yeah, he was always on privateer level teams!
– I dedicated an entire column on why I think Fast Freddie is underrated. Read it here!
– Tick doesn’t get much respect for what he accomplished in the sport. He won a 250SX West title and when he moved up to the 450 class you could always count on him getting fifth in a deep class. Tickle never gets talked about anymore, so he definitely belongs on the list.

Andrew Short – I think for 2 years if you add up both Supercross and Motocross he had the most points.
Mike Lora I I thought was really good and under rated. Along with Eric sorbet he was good to and the most of all would be john does and Keith Johnson.
