Welcome to the Vurb Practice Party, where you will probably find qualifying times at some point and random thoughts from Troy and Slaw, but mostly Troy. Hang around, it’s going to be the best time of your life.
Yeah! Indy!
We’re heading into Indy this weekend, which is the home race of Troy Dog! Indy is always freezing cold for some reason, but this year it’s going to be around 60, which means that all the riders won’t be hiding in the trucks, which is good. Also, Indy is a Triple Crown format, which should provide a night of unforgettable racing in the soft rutted conditions.

- Jett Lawrence is looking for his third straight win and fifth of the series.
- Tom Vialle is looking for his third straight win and third of the series.
- Justin Cooper has gone 7-6-5 in the last three races and sits eighth in the standings.
- Dylan Ferrandis will be sitting Indianapolis out with an illness.
- This will be the last 250SX East race until Foxborough on April 13th.
- Cameron McAdoo has finished second in the last three rounds of 250SX East.
- Only 21 points still separate the top eight in the East standings.

Coty Schock Isn’t Real
Someone cue up the airplane lady, but Coty Schock is not real. ClubMX Team Manager Mike Bonacci said that Coty had surgery and that he would be out until Foxborough, yet that is not the case. Coty is in fact racing today in Indy. I saw it with my own eyes.
First Sessions
First sessions have wrapped up here in Indy. Max Anstie leads 250SX and Justin Cooper leads 450SX. Here’s some notes that stood out to me.
- Ken Roczen jumped into the whoops off of the roller twice. It looked cool, but not sure it’s faster.
- The board couldn’t keep up with the amount of changing that the top five saw in both classes.
- Chase Sexton and Jett Lawrence had an accidental close run in. Sexton putting in a fast lap made a little bit of contact with Jett’s front wheel, who was cruising. It was a close call, but nothing done on purpose.
- The whoops are going to tell the story tonight.
- Justin Barcia is looking spicy today. He’s trying to get out front in all the practice sessions and is riding loose.
Best Buddies: Troy Dog and Den Dog Meet UP
They said we wouldn’t, but we did! After three years on a group text thread, Denny Stephenson and I met up to talk about our combined ONE East Region title. Of course we coordinated our outfits as well.
We make time for our friends. We’re just missing Corporate Clinton Fowler.
Bald Head Update:
So far, so good. I have not come close to getting near Har Dog or Benny. All is well. Harlan had his chance, but was sad, so I’m good.
