Son of a….
Guess we can’t have good things this summer. Days ahead of the 2024 Pro Motocross season opener at Fox Raceway, newly crowned 250SX West Region Champion RJ Hampshire is out of the series.
During press day yesterday at Fox Raceway, Hampshire suffered a wrist injury and has already undergone surgery on Thursday evening, according to the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team.
Per the team, a return date is unclear.
Nathan Ramsey, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team Manager: “The highs and the lows of this sport are sometimes tough to swallow, but unfortunately with RJ taking a spill on press day here at Pala, he has injured his wrist. It’s a setback, but we can all get through this – I know that RJ and the crew will stay positive. RJ’s tough and he’s mentally strong, so he’ll be back as soon as possible.”
Hampshire released the following on Instagram today:
This sucks. That is all.
