5 Predictions for Fox Raceway National

Whoa, doggies. Can you believe we are actually going to get a nine-round Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship in? I can’t. I honestly didn’t think it would happen. Kudos to MX Sports, the teams, riders, and of course, Slaw for bringing you this column every week.

One thing I hate about these blabbering “experts” on ESPN, etc. is that they throw out the ridiculous predictions and then NEVER revisit them. They are NEVER held accountable. Not Slaw. Each week I’ll review my previous week predictions and grade it on a Slaw scale of 1 to 10.

Let’s review my Slawdicitions fromThunder Valley and then jump into Fox Raceway at Pala.

Prediction

Add in the altitude and the absolute rocket ships that are the Star Yamaha’s and I predict that TWO Star Yamaha riders make the overall podium at Thunder Valley. Stamp it.

Not only did Star have two riders make the podium, they went 1-2 with Justin Cooper taking the win and Dylan Ferrandis finishing runner-up. Additionally, Shane McElrath finished fourth. Bang. Bang. Bang.

Slawdiction: 10 out of 10

Prediction

Strange to think Eli Tomac only has one overall win this year, but, hey, 2020, am I right? Anyway, Tomac keeps the momentum going from last week to get his second win of the season in his home state.

Prediction

Joey Savatgy is slowing progressing from his injury and Fredrik Noren has had an underrated season. I think they both get top 10 overall this weekend. This is my Lead Slaw Lock of the Week.

Noren finished 11th and Savatgy had a crash and DNS in the second moto. Grrrrrr…

Prediction

One, I’m shocked Marv was even able to race after his gnarly crash in qualifying last weekend. Two, I’m even more shocked he got second overall. I think he’ll be a bit banged up this weekend and won’t get the overall podium.

Something was up with Marv last weekend as he went 6-8 for sixth overall. Only if someone had predicted that….

Slawdiction: 10 out of 10

Prediction

This kid [Jett Lawrence has been so impressive. A career-high second in the first moto last weekend and he’ll continue his strong rookie season this weekend with a top five overall.

If not for his dang brother getting fifth, Jett would have gotten a top five and given Slaw a 4 of 5 perfect 10 out of 10 week. Dammit, Hunter.

Slawdiction: 5 out of 10. Hey, A Lawrence got top five.

AC Gets the W

I think Osborne will be in championship mode and back it down a notch. AC has to win, so I think he sends er and picks up the W this weekend.

Cooper Grabs Another Podium

With DogGate in the rearview, Cooper is fired up and has finally figured things out. He’ll grab another podium and bring a SLAW DOG UP. DO IT FOR SLAW NATION, JUSTIN!
