Following a 93 percent accuracy rate in 2022, the most-read, most popular blog in Supercross is back for another season of flaming hot predictions. We are off to round 12 in Glendale.
As the greatest wrastler alive, Ric Flair, once said: “I’m the stylin’, profilin’, limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin’ and dealin’ son of a gun.”
As always, we will first review my amazing picks from Seattle before we get into Glendale.
Slaw Note: Supercross was off last week, so I don’t really recall my picks. Except the correct ones. I remember those.
Prediction | Neck Strain
Eli Tomac won’t admit it, but I think his neck was bothering him last weekend as well. I’m not doctor, but I did WebMD neck strain and people who are doctors say a neck strain can last four to six weeks. That’s for normal people. Tomac is not that. He gets a win this weekend AND TIES STEW!!!!
Yep, totally remember this one. Pretty sure I was the only capital J journalist to pick Tomac. Take note AMA Media Member of the Year committee.
Slawdiction: 100 out of 10.
Prediction | Jett Wins But I’m Also Predicting the 250 Podium
The 250SX West Region is back! I blogged a refresher for you doggies this week, so go read that. Anyway, Jett picks up where he left off and wins. Hampshire and McAdoo will round out the podium.
I also recall this. What a pick. When you’re hot, you’re hot. Take note AMA Media Member of the Year committee.
Slawdiction: 100 out of 10.
Prediction | Mumfy Is Good
Carson Mumford finally makes his Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki debut this weekend. I’ve heard he’s “flying at the test track” and could “top 5”. Look, I’m a Mumfy guy. Through and through. BUT, I’m not going top 5. Top 10 for sure, though.
FROM DOWNTOWN……YES! I mean, sometimes you just have a hot hand. Take note AMA Media Member of the Year committee.
Slawdiction: 100 out of 10.
Prediction | Seely Is Back!
A very under the radar story this weekend is the return of Cole Seely! Yep, he’s back and is going to be throwing HEAT. Straight up, I think he top 10s in his first race back.
Don’t recall making this pick.
Slawdiction: Incomplete.
Prediction | AP Keeps It Up
AP and Seattle go together like a classic Oscar and Slaw on a hot summer night. Don’t think what happened last week will keep him from coming in hot to the PNW. He’s will. And he will podium.
Don’t recall making this pick.
Slawdiction: Incomplete.
Off to Glendale, the Crown Jewel of the series and also home to another Triple Crown event.
Webb Fires Back
You know when I know Webb is feeling it? When he pulls out the finger gun salute. Pew. Pew. Webb won the last Triple Crown in Arlington and I think his consistency pulls him through again. Webb for the W and sole possession of the points lead.
Roczen Wins One G… Main Event
Ken is really good in these shorter races. He dang near won a main last time in Arlington and I think the Indy win gave him enough confidence to pull out a W this weekend.
Bennick Takes Third Futures Win
Supercross Futures is back for the third round of the championship this weekend. Dax Bennick won the opening two rounds and I really don’t see why he can’t take a third victory this weekend. Lead Slaw Lock of the Week.
Jett Wins
Bold, I know.
Barcia Podium
Love what I’m seeing from the Bammest of Bams this year. Is it me or is this the best we’ve seen Barcia in a long time? Yeah? No? Either way, podium for the Bam in Glendale.
