Guess who’s back? Slaw is back. Back again, to bring you some flaming hot Chester Cheeto predictions that come with a 99 percent accuracy rate.
As always, we’ll review my previous predictions and then move on to Washougal. Let’s dig in!
NONE of this would be possible without the folks at FLY Racing, who have stepped in to support Slaw and #slawnation couldn’t be happier. Visit www.flyracing.com and support those who support Slaw. Also, they just dropped their 2022 line and it’s fire!!!!!
Prediction
I have no clue what is going on with Eli Tomac in the first moto. Apparently he doesn’t either. “The second moto has been great,” he said after Southwick. “I look back at the last three weeks and I’m just like, “What’s going on in moto one?” I haven’t totally figured it out yet, other than maybe it’s a little bit of start position for the past two weeks. But this week there was no excuse. I started almost in the same spot in moto two and was able to come through people.”
Whatever the h e double hockey stick is going on with Eli, it changes this weekend. He podiums in moto one.
Exclusive footage only found on Vurb of Eli Tomac just destroying souls in the first moto in a come from behind vintage Eli Tomac performance.
And as Slaw correctly predicted, he broke through his first moto slump and scored a moto podium. Slaw did good.
Slawdiction: 19 out of 10.
Prediction
RJ Hampshire has been so damn fast the last few weeks. But, he’s been killed by mistakes. It didn’t matter at RedBud, as he still won the overall, but they cost him dearly at Southwick. No mas, doggies. He figures it out at Spring Creek, doesn’t crash and wins the overall. STAMP IT.
Yes, we ALL had Hampshire collecting 150 ft. of track side banners and scoring a DNF. WE ALL HAD IT! Either way, I should have never doubted a Martin win at home and for that, I’m sorry.
Slawdiction: 0 out of 10.
Prediction
Can we talk about Ty Masterpool? Dude has been rock solid on a damn privateer bike, which is HUGE in the 250 Class outdoors. He went 12-12 for 12th overall last weekend, but I like him for a top 10 at Spring Creek.
Not a good day for Ty. He was one of 35 riders caught up in the log jam in the second moto and his first moto wasn’t what I expected either. He’ll probably score a top ten this weekend just to rub some slaw on my bun.
Slawdiction: 0 out of 10.
Prediction
The Monster Energy Supercross champion finally, kind of, broke out of his early season slump last weekend at Southwick for a top five finish. It was his best result of the season, which is very strange to say. Either way, I like for Webb to get another top five this weekend.
Hmmm… this is completely the fault of Chase Sexton. Okay, okay, not really. That was a pure racing incident, but WE were in line for another top five overall after going sixth in the first moto and off to damn good start in the second before this happened. Slaw happens, I guess…
Slawdiction: 3.5 out of 10.
Prediction
After back-to-back ninth place overall finishes at Thunder Valley and High Point, it’s been a struggle for rookie Dilan Schwartz, as he’s gone 19-22 at RedBud and Southwick. That ain’t happening this weekend. He sneaks back into the top ten…. at least in one moto.
I’m refusing to count this. Schwartz was GOING to score a top ten in that second moto before he appeared to suffer from a bike problem late and finished 11th. Either way, that’s a solid rebound considering his previous results.
Slawdiction: Incomplete.
On to Washougal we go….
Kenny Wins the Overall
I thought Kenny’s season was over after that first moto crash. I really did. He was on the ground for way longer than I thought he would be. If his season wasn’t over, surly he was out for the second moto, right? Hell no! Roczen came back, put on the pass of the year to take the lead, and won the damn moto. He’s riding a wave, folks, and he goes 1-1 this weekend.
Forkner Continues to Ride The Momentum
WE FINALLY FOUND THE REAL AUSTIN FORKNER. The kid finally got a good start, ran up front and scored a fourth place finish in the second moto. We’ve been waiting all year for this and I think he rides this confidence boast into another top five moto finish this weekend.
Savatgy Top 10
One rider who has gone completely under the radar this year is Joey Savatgy. He’s been pretty damn good. He found the top 10 overall last week, and I like for him to do it again at Washougal. You heard it here first.
Jett and Hunter Go 1-2
I have no fact based evidence to support this. This is honestly a stretch, considering Jett’s starts recently. I’m just trusting my Slaw here.
Mummy Another Top 10
Carson Mumford scores another top 10, which leads to a four hour debate between Steve Matthes and JT.
