I NEED A SAFE SPACE TO TALK ABOUT THE FOLLOWING! PLEASE DO NOT TAG SLAW ON TWITTER. I WANT NO TWITTER BEEF. LOOKING AT YOU DBO.
Over the weekend, Drew Adams, the winner of the AMA Horizon Award, returned to the Great White North to try and capture the MX2 title in the Triple Crown Series. He trailed Kaven Benoit in the championship by eight entering the final round and wouldn’t you know it, in the second moto, it was those two out front.
And, with a championship on the line, Drew played some games. That’s a fact. He waited on Benoit and was certainly trying to impede his race. Was he trying to take him out? Umm… don’t think so. Pretty sure he could have just cleaned him if he wanted.
Either way, probably not a great look for Drew, but hey, he’s young and it happens. I ain’t going nuclear on him for it.
Watch it below with some great commentary from Fro and Ping…
After the race, Adams had the following to say on the podium: “That was a great race and kind of out of character for me, but there’s a championship on the line.”
Fair. I’m totally fine with it.
The real drama of course took place on Twitter. If you are bored at work, just go look at the @CMXUnfiltered account and of course our boy DBo was all in the mix.
God, I love motocross and things like this.
I’m here for all of it.
