We may be a little late to this party, but like Monday was Memorial Day and yesterday was a catch up day, so cut us some slack alright? Plus, Slaw Dog had been on a White Claw heater lately, which means I’m the only one available to give you the news. Mr. Consistent I am.

Anyway, the best exchange ever happened in the Fox Raceway press conference between Haiden Deegan and Levi Kitchen. The former Monster Energy/Star Racing Yamaha teammates.

These two have trained together for years and Levi has told me that he’s been asked if he is actually Haiden about several hundred times. Here’s how it went down after our pal Gypsy Tales asked Deegs a question in the presser.

Deegan: I went off the track. I didn’t accelerate. I followed what I was supposed to do, but Mitch is trying to get us. I mean, I don’t know. Levi, do you think I deserve that win or no?

Kitchen: I mean, I don’t think I would have passed you, depends on how much that you slowed up. It’s a sticky situation though, because my buddy Tom (Vialle) got docked for a similar situation. So, you can’t really, I don’t know. If Tom wouldn’t have gotten docked, then it would be a differenct situation, but I don’t know. He beat me though.

Deegan: Long story short, it’s going to be war now until the end.

Either you love him, or you aren’t a fan of Haiden Deegan, but one thing you have to give him credit for is that he keeps it extremely real. There are only a handful of riders in this sport that would ask their competition in front of a room full of industry people if they feel like they would have beaten them.

Levi seems like the type of dude to shrug it off and play the game, but then use that as motivation through the week to make the necessary gains to win the following weekend.

Insert Tom Vialle into the mix and we have a three-way battle for the coveted 250MX Championship.

It’s going to be an all-out war, as Deegan said. These guys are all young and hungry and they are going to do everything they can to make sure that they bring the championship home.

One thing that we hope for, and we’re speaking for all the media, is that we hope that these guys continue to call one another out in the press conferences.
