Most Likely is such a banger that our friends at Michelin have already jumped on board! So, go buy some new tires for your entire lineup!
Each week, Slaw, Troy, and sometimes Denny Stephenson, (and sometimes Cade Clason) will come up with some topics and then list the riders most likely to accomplish those feats. Hence the title “Most Likely”. Most would call us beautiful minds.
Today, I Troy Dog, have listed three riders who will step their game up with their new teams in the 2025 SuperMotocross season. Don’t worry, I’ve listed my reasonings as well. We have rules to the format ya know?
Christian Craig
If you have followed me, I’ve long been a supporter of Christian Craig’s abilities on a dirtbike. I mean the dude has quietly crept up into my top ten favorite riders to watch ride of all-time. I’m serious. On top of that, he’s a genuine guy and down to Earth. The Craig’s are great people. Anyway, Craig’s arm still probably isn’t 100% at the moment and his recent knee surgery may have put him behind for 2025, but Ive got great vibes for CC in 2025.
His return #HOME to Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha will be great to create a peace of mind for the next two years. Craig will be racing, in charge of testing and bike development, as well as guiding Haiden Deegan down the right path. Craig can do all of this and still get top five finishes indoors and out with the occasional podium. I don’t see any reason why he can’t return to his previous form on a Star bike. Good times are ahead.
Jorge Prado
This news has been seriously bothering me. We’ve heard about Prado heading to Monster Energy Kawasaki since what…March? Here we are almost to November and his deal hasn’t been announced yet. It’s going to happen…I just don’t know when.
Prado is a serious wild card for the 2025 season and probably the next ten years in the States. The four-time World Champion is only 23-years old and he’s got his sights on taking over in America. This won’t be an easy task at all with the Lawrence brothers, Haiden Deegan on the way up, and battle ready veterans of the 450 class including an Eli Tomac who is clearly not finished. Kawasaki is putting all their faith in Prado to become their next great champion. Prado will get adjusted to Monster Energy Supercross fairly quickly and he will challenge for race wins and championships in the next five years.
Colt Nichols
Yeah, I went here and I will tell you why. I think a lot of people don’t realize how good Colt45 actually is. He’s a very underrated rider and he has been his entire career. He’s got a great opportunity at HEP Suzuki right now and the more time he has on the bike the better he will get. HEP was looking for a solid rider to pair next to Ken Roczen and they’ve found that with Nichols. Now, he’s not going to win races or get podiums, but he will be 5-10 on the good days and inside of the 10-15 range on his bad. At the end of the season he comes alive when the SMX Playoffs start, so he will consistently get a great payout at the end of the year.
I know that Colt’s best days of racing are ahead of him with his new HEP Suzuki gig.
